Description:

New QCF qualifications. Diplomas in Health and Social Care; Diploma for the Children and Young People´s Workforce.

The qualifications aimed at the adult workforce at levels 2 and 3 in England will provide learners with an opportunity to achieve an endorsed qualification to recognise specialist skills in the care of individuals with dementia and those with learning disabilities.
The addition of a group of context specific/specialist knowledge units will provide learners with an opportunity to gain knowledge of a specialist area of care where they may not yet be working.

Course Content:

Mandatory Units:

  • Communicate with, and complete records for individuals
  • Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals
  • Develop your knowledge and practice
  • Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and wellbeing of individuals

Optional Units:

  • Help individuals to eat and drink
  • Support individuals with their personal care needs which help students to decide on the client group and the area in which they would like to study.

How long is the course?

6-12 months


What are the entry requirements?

No formal qualifications required. Relevant work experience will be considered.
