Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG)

Information, Advice & Guidance aims to enable young people to make decisions about their future and to progress successfully through learning and into work.

Supporting young people through decisions and transitions is a significant part of the role of anyone working with young people age 14-19. Amani Training is fully accredited by MATRIX.

The programme offers face-to-face support for effective IAG in the following ways:

Effective IAG - Raising Awareness Course

This module adds elements of IAG to other Diploma Support themes. It includes a Diploma, the line of learning networks and other relevant modules, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of IAG.

Topics include information on impartial IAG, supporting progression and learner decision-making, using labour market information (LMI) and sources of IAG support.

What can be achieved

  • Gives the industry title of the Diploma
  • learning that is related to the sector of the economy
  • Learning that is designed and endorsed by industry

Core content

  • Includes the assessment of Functional Skills in English, mathematics and ICT
  • Develops a student's employability skills of teamwork and self management
  • Gives the student the opportunity to produce an extended project
  • Requires at least 10 days' compulsory work experience

  • Allows the student to specialise
  • Allows the student to choose more qualifications
  • Allows flexibility and choice of learning
